A group of islanders from the Union islands went to protect one of the tiniest species, a gecko the size of a paperclip. The Union Island gecko was officially found in 2005, and the unique creature became one of the most trafficked reptile in the Eastern Caribbean. These islanders, which the help from the government’s forestry department, helped increase the gecko’s numbers.

ユニオン諸島の小型ヤモリはペーパークリップサイズの小型生物で、2005年に公式に発見され、東カリブ海で最も売買される爬虫類のひとつです。保護団体の島民たちがこのヤモリを保護するため、ユニオン諸島の政府の森林局の協力を得て、ヤモリの数を増やすことに成功しました。
