A young girl in Rhode Island, USA sent a package containing a partially eaten cookie and some chewed-on carrot sticks to her local police department, requesting a DNA analysis.
The girl’s note read, “I took a sample of cookie and carrots that I left for Santa and the reindeer on Christmas Eve and I was wondering if you could take a sample of DNA and see if Santa is real?”
The items were forwarded to the state Department of Health-Forensic Sciences for testing and the police were impressed with her “keen sense of truth” and ability to properly handle evidence.
