Facial hair enthusiasts claimed to have set a new world record for longest beard chain in Wyoming on Nov. 11, the Casper Star-Tribune reports. Participants at Gaslight Social, a bar in Casper, stood side by side and clipped their beards together to create a hairy chain that measured 15p feet (about 46 meters) long, according to the newspaper. That’s more than double the Guinness World Record of 62 feet, 6 inches, set in Germany in 2007. To participate, people needed to sport a beard at least 8 inches long, the paper said. The event occurred on the sidelines of the National Beard and Moustache Championships on Nov. 12 in the city.

　米ワイオミング州で11月11日、ひげの愛好家が、あごひげをつなげ、世界最長記録を更新しました。地方紙「キャスパー・スター・トリビューン」が報じた。同紙によると、キャスパーにあるバー「ガスライトソーシャル」で、横一列に並んだ参加者が自分たちのあごひげをクリップでつなげ、長さ150フィート（約46メートル）のひげでできた鎖を作ったとのことです。2007年にドイツで樹立されたギネス世界記録62フィート６インチの２倍以上でした。同紙によると、参加するには８インチ以上のあごひげを蓄えていなければならないという条件がありました。このイベントは12日に同市で開幕した「全米あごひげ・口ひげ選手権」の関連行事として開かれました。
