Operators on the American emergency number 911 have reported receiving automated calls from iPhone14 units that say “The owner of this iPhone was in a severe car crash and is not responding to their phone.”
However, in most cases, the iPhone14 was simply taken on a roller coaster ride. These phones have a crash-detection feature that automatically calls 911 when it senses vibrations similar to those of a car accident.

The feature also sounds a loud alarm and displays a warning screen for 20 seconds before calling so the user can turn it off if everything is okay. But on a roller coaster these warnings are very difficult to notice.

アメリカで、緊急電話番号「911」のオペレーターたちが、iPhone14本体から「このiPhoneの持ち主は激しい交通事故に遭い、電話に応答しません」という自動通報を受けながらも、多くのケースで、iPhone14が単にジェットコースターの揺れに反応しただけの誤通報だったと報道されました。iPhone14には衝突に対する検知機能があり、交通事故と同じような振動を感知すると、自動的に911に通報するようになっています。

また、この機能は通報する前に、大きなアラーム音を鳴らし、警告画面を20秒間表示するため、本来持ち主は自分の状態に問題がないことを確認すればキャンセルができます。しかし、ジェットコースターに乗った状態でその警告に気づくことは難しく、このような事態が起こっているようです。
