A shopping district in Yokohama has reduced the number of cigarette butts tossed in the street by an impressive 70 percent.
The solution? Double-barreled, translucent trash bins that allow people to cast their used butts as votes on a hypothetical question.
The amount of rubbish on each side shows which answer is currently leading the “vote.”
