One hundred and seventy-eight men with the same full name pronounced Hirokazu Tanaka assembled in Tokyo on Oct. 29 to set a new entry in Guinness World Records, besting the previous record of 164 Martha Stewarts set in the United States in 2005. The bid to bring together as many Hirokazu Tanakas as possible was proposed, of course, by a man named Hirokazu Tanaka, who works for a Tokyo ad agency. It was his third attempt at a world record. His previous bids, in 2011 and 2017, did not work out because he invited people whose full names were written in exactly the same kanji.

「タナカヒロカズ」という同姓同名の男性が10月29日、都内で178人集まり、ギネス世界記録を達成しました。2005年に米国で認定された「マーサ・スチュワート」の164人を上回りました。できるだけ多くのタナカヒロカズさんを集める試みは、もちろん、「タナカヒロカズ（田中宏和）」さんが提案。田中さんは都内の広告会社に勤めています。11年と17年の挑戦では、漢字で「田中宏和」に合致する人を集めたため、うまくいかなかったという経緯があり、田中さんにとって世界記録の挑戦は３回目でした。
