A Danish bank employee union announced on December 3rd, that there were no recorded bank robberies in the country throughout 2022. This is down from 221 robberies in 2000 and just one robbery in 2021.

The cause is said to be a drastic reduction in cash transactions in Denmark. Cash withdrawals have dropped by 75% each year for the past six years and only 20 bank branches in the country have cash holdings.

The union was happy with the news as robberies put a great deal of strain on employees. However, criminals haven’t disappeared and instead have turned to online fraud to get money.

デンマークの銀行従業員組合は12月3日、2022年の間、国内で記録された銀行強盗がなかったと発表しました。これは2000年の221件の強盗と、2021年のたった1件の強盗からさらに減少して、ゼロとなったものです。　

その要因は、デンマークでの現金取引の劇的な減少だと言われています。現金引き出しは過去6年間で毎年75％減少しており、国内のたった20の銀行支店のみが現金残高を持っています。　

強盗は従業員への負担が大きく、銀行組合にとって喜ばしいニュースであるものの、犯罪じたいは消えておらず、代わりにオンライン詐欺でお金を得ることに変化しています。
