Hi, I’m Lara, and I just recently joined as one of the new interns. My favorite number is 8, and I consider it my lucky number. Currently a senior in high school, I am pretty done with most of my applications, so I cannot wait to help around and start joining activities!
I lived in Singapore and India for half of my life, and there, I became familiar with English to the point where I prefer to speak in English most of the time. Japan, Singapore, and India are all different in culture and customs, so I felt a drastic change living in each country. However, it was lovely seeing what made each country unique. For example, in India, some cows roam around the streets along with the cars and the people. It makes it difficult to walk the pavements, but it emphasizes the fact that cows are the sacred animal in Hinduism.
It was disappointing to see that no cows were walking the streets of Japan, but seeing as there are beautiful seasonal changes in flowers that you cannot see in many countries, I am grateful to be able to live here now.
I hope I can tell you all more about what it is like living in different countries and hear some stories from you! 🙂

こんにちは、ララです。新しいインターンの一人です！好きな数字は８です。現在高校3年生で、ほとんどの出願が終わったので、早くいろいろな活動に参加したいと思っています！
私は人生の半分をシンガポールとインドで過ごし、そこで英語に慣れ親しみました。日本、シンガポール、インドは文化も習慣も違うので、それぞれの国で生活するのは劇的な変化を感じました。
それぞれの国の特色を見ることができたのはとてもよかったです。例えば、インドでは車や人に混じって牛が道路を歩き回っています。歩道を歩くのは大変ですが、これは、牛がヒンドゥー教の神聖な動物であることを強調しているのが分かりました。
日本の街を牛が歩いていないのは残念ですが、多くの国では見ることのできない四季折々の美しい花々を見ることができ、今日本に住むことができてとても嬉しいです。
また、いろいろな国のお話を皆さんにお伝えし、逆にお話も聞いてみたいです！よろしくお願いします！ 🙂
