Researchers at the University of Tokyo have found that rats bob their heads to music in the same way that humans do. They believe other animals also share the innate sense of rhythm.
In the study 10 rats and 20 humans were fitted with accelerometers on their heads to measure movement while listening to “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga, “Another One Bites the Dust” by Queen, Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”, and Mozart’s Sonata for Two Pianos in D Major.
This is said to be the first time such behavior was seen in animals not trained to do so. Researchers hope to use the findings on how brains work to help develop next-gen AI.

東京大学の研究者たちは、ラットが人間と同じように音楽に合わせて頭を振ることを発見したと発表しました。他の動物も同様に、生まれながらのリズム感覚があるだろうとしています。
