A theme park featuring the world of Studio Ghibli’s animated films opened in central Japan on Nov1st.

Three areas of Ghibli Park, “Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse,” “Hill of Youth” and “Dondoko Forest,” opened on the site of the 2005 Expo in Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture.

The opening countdown was attended by Miyazaki Goro, a director at Studio Ghibli, who also supervised the production of the park.

“Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse,” the main attraction at the park, is an indoor facility with a screening room, exhibitions and areas that will take visitors to the world of classic movies, including “Spirited Away” and “My Neighbor Totoro.”

To avoid congestion, tickets for each area must be reserved in advance for designated time slots.

スタジオジブリのアニメーションの世界を再現したテーマパークが、11月1日、日本の中心部にオープンしました。

愛知県長久手市の、愛・地球博記念公園内にある「ジブリの大倉庫」「青春の丘」「どんどこの森」の3エリアが午前10時に会場、公開されました。

オープニングのカウントダウンには、同パークの制作監修を担当したスタジオジブリの宮崎吾朗監督も出席しました。

“ジブリの大倉庫 “は、パークのメインとなる屋内施設で、試写室や展示、「千と千尋の神隠し」「となりのトトロ」などの名作映画の世界へと誘うエリアが設けられています。

混雑を避けるため、各エリアのチケットは指定された時間帯に事前予約する必要がありますが、それにもかかわらず、この日は、早朝から公園の外に人だかりができました。
