弊社開催プログラムから見事選出され、MLBオールスターゲームに学生特派員としてフィラデルフィアに招待されたMiyako。前回のメディア取材デー＆ホームランダービー観戦のレポートに続き、今回は翌日のアクティビティのレポートです。

Day 3 — All-Star Village and the All-Star Game
On the morning of Day 3, we visited Universal Theme Parks: The Exhibition.
We explored the exhibition and had lunch there.
In the afternoon, we visited the All-Star Village. There were many activities and attractions related to baseball, and I had so much fun spending time with the other student correspondent.
Finally, we watched the All-Star Game. Being inside the stadium and watching the best players in MLB play together was an incredible experience. I had watched many of these players on television before, but seeing them in person made me realize just how special it is.
3日目 — オールスター・ビレッジとオールスター・ゲーム
3日目の朝は博物館での「ユニバーサル・テーマパークス：ザ・エキシビション」を訪れました。
展示を楽しんだ後、そこで昼食をとりました。
午後は「オールスター・ビレッジ」へ向かいました。野球に関する様々なアクティビティやアトラクションがあり、他の学生特派員たちと最高に楽しい時間を過ごしました。
そして旅の締めくくりとして、オールスター・ゲームを観戦しました。スタジアムの中に身を置き、MLB最高の選手たちが一堂に会してプレイする姿を目の当たりにする体験は圧巻でした。これまでテレビの画面越しに見てきた選手たちばかりでしたが、生の迫力を目の前にして、この舞台がどれほど特別なものかを改めて実感しました。
Looking Back on My Experience
This trip gave me much more than the opportunity to visit the All Star Week. I was able to meet the MLB players, interview them in both English and Japanese, meet people from different backgrounds, and experience the excitement of All-Star Week from a completely different perspective.
The player interviews were especially meaningful for me.
I was nervous about asking questions in English, but I was able to communicate directly with MLB players and hear their thoughts in their own words. Interviewing Mike Trout about the connection between baseball and golf was memorable because I play both sports myself.
I also learned that being a journalist or correspondent is not only about asking questions. It is about listening carefully, noticing interesting details, and thinking about what those experiences mean to other people. I am very grateful that I was given this fabulous opportunity. I will always remember the moment when I stood in front of the players and asked them questions, and I hope to use what I learned from this experience in my future challenges.
経験を振り返って
この旅は、単にオールスター・ウィークを訪れる以上の、はるかに大きなものを私に与えてくれました。MLBの選手たちに出会い、英語と日本語の両方でインタビューを行い、多様なバックグラウンドを持つ人々と交流し、オールスター・ウィークの熱気を全く新しい視点から体感することができました。
中でも、選手へのインタビューは私にとって特に意味のあるものでした。英語で質問するのはとても緊張しましたが、MLBの選手たちと直接コミュニケーションを取り、彼らの言葉でその思いを聞くことができました。特に自分と同じく野球とゴルフの両方を嗜むマイク・トラウト選手から両スポーツの繋がりについて聞けたことは、忘れられない思い出です。
また、ジャーナリストや特派員という仕事は、単に質問を投げるだけではないということも学びました。相手の話にじっくりと耳を傾け、興味深い詳細に気づき、その体験が他の人々にどのような意味を持つのかを考えることが大切なのだと気づかされました。
このような素晴らしい機会を与えていただいたことに、心から感謝しています。選手たちの前に立ち質問を投げかけたあの瞬間の胸の高鳴りを私は一生忘れません。そして、今回の貴重な経験から学んだすべてを、これからの自分の新たな挑戦に生かしていきたいと思います！
